No more fashion waste
The R Collective is a social impact business, born in 2017, to eliminate fashion’s waste by reusing and recycling textile waste. We create products and clothing with a conscience.
We are a team of highly-experienced fashion professionals, with a goal to create a world-changing circular fashion system, reducing waste and pollution with our sister charity, Redress, a Hong Kong-based NGO.
Putting waste back to work
We work alongside top fashion brands to prevent textile waste. We reuse and recycle their luxury fabrics. 1 dumper truck of textile waste is landfilled or incinerated every second, polluting our air and our oceans*. Let’s change the world.
We rescue luxury fabrics destined for waste and reimagine them into cool collections with a conscience. Sustainable-focused designers from all over the world compete to win the creative role.
Our collection of products-with-a-conscience, are created using a wide range of rescued materials from top, international luxury fashion brands.
R Circular Textiles
Fabrics unsuitable for reuse find a second life through our fibre recovery system. New and improved technology allows us to shred fabrics to fibres, which are then re-spun into new yarns and fabrics.
It all started with a cycling trip
As part of a sponsored charity event, I cycled 1,200km, ten hours per day, from my back door in Hong Kong, through China's expansive southern manufacturing hinterland. This area is wall-to-wall gigantic factories, enabling the country’s massive textile industry. The ride unlocked an emotional and intellectual blind spot regarding the origin of our clothing in the West. I suddenly understood the scale of our fashion consumption and the parallel scale of our textile waste.
Our team found each other!
We are a group of fashion professionals - from sourcing to production, marketing to finance – dedicated to addressing fashion waste, with a circular system of reuse, repurpose, recycle.
We give back
We give back
We have generated USD25,000 for Redress. Redress is a pioneering environmental charity working and transform textile waste in the fashion industry. Its dynamic programmes work to minimise the negative impacts of fashion, whilst promoting innovative new models and driving growth towards a more sustainable industry via the circular economy. Working directly with designers, manufacturers, brands, educational bodies, government and consumers, Redress aims to create lasting environmental change in fashion.
We are focused on giving back through delivering impact. With your support, we reduce waste and pollution and raise funds for charity Redress by giving 25% of our profits to Redress, supporting the charity in their work to educate industry and consumers about circular fashion, reducing waste in the fashion industry.
