'Start From Zero' is a limited-edition fourteen-piece collection that redefines wardrobe staples by elevating timeless pieces that are designed to be worn from day to night through forward-thinking designs that use upcycling and zero waste design techniques. Constructed using carefully curated rescued quality fabrics from world-leading luxury brands, the collection’s muted colour palette and luxurious fabrications include; the masterfully draped upcycled silk Welland Skirt, the upcycled wool plaid Brooks Top, the upcycled linen Nova Top, the hammered upcycled satin Regina Top and the Whistler Jacket, which was designed with clever pleating techniques and drawstring details that eliminated waste at the design stage.
The fashion industry contributes to approximately 10 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions1. Our upcycling techniques reduce fashion’s climate impact by reducing waste and by reducing pressure for virgin materials. One typical The R Collective upcycled jacket has a 60 percent reduced carbon footprint compared with a similar jacket created using virgin materials2.
